PROGRESS REPORT:
It's been over two months since we broke ground on the first AKC Affiliate Gymnasium, AKC Fitness Long Island. In one of the country's busiest communities (just a few miles east of NYC), on one of Long Island's most traveled roads (Merrick Road), we found a home.
At first look it was an empty shell bursting with potential. My right hand man and technical advisor, Steve Bumb, was behind this location from the beginning. Steve and I share a vision, along with the American Kettlebell Club, of what an AKC Fitness Gymnasium should be. Dozens of pro grade bells lining multiple platforms. Each lifter has their own designated platform, clock, white board, all while being trained by highly qualified AKC Coaches.
Members will reap the benefits of the meticulous planning process that went into the gym's design. Fifteen training platforms line the gymnasium. Everything from workout protocols, to platform clearance has been carefully planned to work to the lifter's advantage. AKC Fitness LI will primarily be equipped to handle the innovative concept of Kettlebell Squad Training, the best vehicle for AKC / WKC kettlebell lifting protocols, whereby members will receive high level personal coaching, while saving a bundle during these challenging financial times. But there's another bonus.
Our goal was to make the most out of every inch of available space, paramount when opening any business in the NYC / Long Island area, where space doesn't come cheap. My tech-advisor gets that more than anyone else. Part of our renovation process involved an upkeep of the grounds surrounding the gym. That's when Steve discovered the perfect location for our Kettlebell Juggling Pit. Nestled in the rear of our facility, AKC Fitness Long Island now boasts of a professionally designed and installed, 12 by 12 foot, Kettlebell Juggling Arena.
Not to waste any space, when all jugglers are finished practicing, the pit does double duty, quickly converting to an outdoor lifting platform.
At AKC Fitness Long Island, you can look forward to that type of out-of-the-box thinking, bringing innovative concepts into reality, creating a state of the art Kettlebell Gymnasium. We're located in Seaford, on Long Island (outside NYC). Our doors open just in time to help you recover from all that holiday binging, and get back on track.
